Learn it. Love it. Live it.

My grandma is teaching a class in Sunday School about missionary work, so she asked me how members could help us missionaries. Here's what I think:

Being on this end of the work, we see a lot of what we should and shouldn’t do - as members - to help The Work move forward. Many people think they need to find the "Golden" investigator and then prepare them to listen to us, but I think that the absolute BEST way that members can help in the work of salvation is to live the gospel OUT LOUD. What I mean by that is not that we should be obnoxious and try to force our religion at people, but rather that we learn and live the gospel in such a way that others can see the happiness the gospel brings into our lives. They should not only see that we are happy, 

but understand why as well.

1- Study the principles of the gospel in your own homes 

and then try your hardest to apply it in your own lives.

2- Have the courage and the humility to repent and change 

and be true to the covenants you have made with the Lord and then

3- Share your secret for happiness. 

Do not be afraid to explain the things you learn with others. Don’t be afraid 

to make it known that you are a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. 

Many times we "share the gospel" with others in offensive, prideful, or intolerant ways with the thought that "yup, I’ve done my part. Now they won’t be able to say that I never told them," but that just doesn’t cut it. It is not enough to share a "Thumbs up for temples" post on your Facebook page or to invite your neighbor of 12 years with whom you have hardly shared two words to listen to the missionaries someday in the future and then leave it at that. 

These things will not inspire others to have the desire to know for themselves.

4- We need to serve and love others, for them to know that we care. 

We cannot proclaim to be different if we do not act different. "My little children, let us not {preach} in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth." (1 John 3:18). Our examples will always speak louder than our words. 

That is how we can share the gospel as members of the church. 

Learn it. Love it. Live it.
